bought the PET_304 as I have 5 saws and 2 hearing aids=my hearing is less then 50% with Tinnitus so distinguishing tones very bad ... many can tune saws by ear, I cannot. I'd used several of the china-cheap tachs which all failed after 3-4 uses, so went with Echos suggested. I used the 304 about every month then in the 14th month I was adjusting a 590 and as I went to WOT I got a reading of 888888, that's it. It was beyond warranty so why not open it up and see what's what (see pix). I'd think there might be a way to remove the power - nope, Batts are tack welded in. Contacted Oppama, sent the pix would not suggest any solution... spend a bit more for one with a reset...
