I was skeptical that a 20 dollar carburetor could make a lot of difference, but I was wrong. My saw now runs better than it has in years. I didn't have to make any adjustments to it because it seems to have been preadjusted at the factory. It has limiter caps that keep you from messing it up.
My saw has been running erratically for quite some time. It would rev up good then before you finished a cut would slow way down. It costs 30 dollars to take to my local shop to adjust carburetor and I've done that before and didn't really work much better after.
There are some good YouTube videos on carburetor replacement. If you're like me an not worked on these before I would advice you watch some and pick the one you like best.
It turned out it wasn't too bad a job to replace. The H and L screws were a little out of line with the case. I didn't have to make any adjustments but you could always take the starter cover off to access them if you had too.
So far I've cut quite a bit of wood with it and it is still running fine.
